For those unfamiliar, GroceryAid is a vital UK charity supporting individuals and families working within the grocery industry. The sector often faces unique challenges, and GroceryAid steps in to provide critical services that help those in need.

How was this award achieved?
This award recognises companies that go the extra mile to support GroceryAid’s mission through a combination of awareness, fundraising, and volunteering activities:
Raising awareness
We actively promoted GroceryAid’s welfare services within The Turmeric Co. and beyond. Our efforts included:
- Sharing information on the resources available, such as financial aid and mental health support, with our team.
- Ensuring we had a dedicated HR/Communications contact to facilitate engagement with GroceryAid programmes.
- Participating in GroceryAid Day, a nationwide event to highlight the importance of the charity’s work and encourage others in the sector to get involved.
Fundraising initiatives
Fundraising plays a critical role in keeping charities like GroceryAid running. To support their efforts, we:
- Made donations to GroceryAid to directly support their services.
- Participated in central and regional events organised by GroceryAid to raise funds and awareness.
- Supported third-party events through sponsorships and collaborative initiatives.
These efforts helped raise funds that will go directly toward providing life-changing support to those in need.
What’s next?
While we’ve accomplished a lot in 2024, there’s still room to grow. One key area we’re excited to develop is our volunteering efforts.
Volunteering is a powerful way to give back, not only through financial means but also by directly connecting with the people and causes we care about. Moving forward, we plan to explore more opportunities for our team to volunteer with GroceryAid and other community-based initiatives.
